About BPMstr | the Artist of the Tempo

Welcome to BPMstr.com! I am Luke Kelvin (a.k.a. BPMstr, or BPMster if you like), but my mom calls me Alex. Inspired by the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Skrillex, Tiesto and Headhunterz, I can't live without my morning techno, my lunchtime dubstep, my evening electrohouse, and my midnight trance. A few months ago, I quit my corporate day job, tuned my old violin, switched on a dinky Yamaha keyboard, got me a Mac, and started producing electronic music. This, plus support from friends and fans, gave me a chance to thrive from a part-time industry enthusiast into a serious producer and entrepreneur. Please follow my progress from corporate slavery to simply producing cool dance tracks and helping others do the same. Please share my passion: join this site and follow my upcoming blog – TuneDome.com (launching in December 2011).

More about BPMstr AND and about my Projects:

BPMstr... BPMster... Who is this dude?

I am "chronically addicted" to EDM – that’s Electronic Dance Music. I believe that in electronic music the primary driving force is the tempo, or BPM – that’s Beats Per Minute. So, I am still Luke Kelvin, but I now call myself BPMstr (or BPMster if you'd "like to buy a vowel"), or "the Artist of the Tempo" - because this makes a statement about my artistic persona. Now, a cool thing about this "BPMstr concept" is this: if you believe that tempo drives many (or some) of your music choices, you too could be sort-of-like a BPMstr or a BPMster... And that would make make me feel great because then it would mean that there are more of us out there who believe the same thing... and that would be simply awesome!

About Project TuneDome

Rolling out December 2011, the EDM blog TuneDome has THREE goals: one for music artists, one for music fans (you included one way or another!), and one for me.

  • If you are a Music Artist... Use TuneDome to tell the word about your work. Got music to share? Become a free member and send me your latest cool tune/song so that I can publicize your masterpiece through this blog and on TuneDome's YouTube channel.
  • If you are a Music Fan... Use TuneDome to follow refreshing music trends, artists, and to connect with other cool people like you. Also, please contribute a cool topic to our podcast materials and assist us with releasing our next TuneDome issue! Love good music? Please sign up (yes, it's free) as a member here or on TuneDome (you can win an iPad if you do, by the way).
  • For me... TuneDome is my opportunity to share my experience of my painful but exciting transition from slavery (that's what I call my day job) into doing what I love most – writing music. I will do so by publishing video materials and articles on various subjects in Electronic Dance Music. My publications will be based on requests and feedback of the TuneDome network - you included. So, please join in.

Oh, and about winning an iPad

Everyone can use an iPad because it's cool. Just do one or more of the following for a chance to win yours on or before March 1 (yes, your name can be entered up to 7 times):
